How adidas captured the story of Italy from North to South "Scatti d’Azzurro" is photographic project in collaboration with FIGC
The National Team as a unifying element. The Azzurri jersey as a symbol of shared values. This is the spirit behind "Scatti d’Azzurro", a project created by adidas and FIGC. From the Alps to the Islands, from major cities to small villages, six photographers have portrayed the country, celebrating the central role of football through the unmistakable blue, the symbolic color of the National Team. The six photographers involved are Cecilia Palmeri, Francesco Freddo, Paolo Massarenti, Alessandro Belussi, Giuseppe Scianna and Lorenzo Bonanni.
This project was born from the desire of adidas and the FIGC to celebrate the deep bond between Italy and football, a passion that goes beyond stadiums and major events to become part of the country’s very fabric. The Azzurri jersey is not only a sporting symbol, but a cultural icon capable of uniting generations and territories. Scatti d’Azzurro is a story told through images and narratives that speak of passion, identity and community. Between Palermo and Turin, passing through Venice and Matera, all the way to Ancona and the Val Camonica. A kind of football far from the spotlight, the one born in neighborhood pitches, on the streets, in spaces reinvented by imagination, and even on snowy fields or with improvised goalposts.
