Milan will take the pitch with maternal surnames Against Bologna, the Rossoneri players will celebrate Mother's Day

AC Milan is once again celebrating Mother's Day: the club has officially announced that during the next home game against Bologna, the players will wear a special shirt with their mother's surname on the home jersey, instead of their usual one. The Rossoneri are carrying on the tradition started last season when they played with their mother's surname on their backs during the game against Cagliari, whose players also changed their surnames on their jerseys to honor their mothers. And in this case, the opposing team, Bologna, has also taken part in this effort, which is why the club will present uniforms adorned with the surnames of mothers.

The initiative launched by AC Milan will not only involve the First Team, but also Milan Futuro, the Youth Sector and the Women's First Team. In addition, a message from coach Sérgio Conceição is expected. The maternal surnames will be added to the paternal ones during the announcement of the lineups through the voice of the speaker: for this reason, Christian Pulisic's name will also be announced with his mother's surname, Harlow, and Tijjani Reijnders will have Lekatompessy added to his name, and so on. The social media campaign was accompanied by the message #MyFirstSupporter, in which the club asked fans to send a photo with their mother to "thank those who have supported us every day and taught us respect, courage, and the strength to believe in our dreams". At the end of the match against Bologna, the jerseys will be available for purchase through an auction on MatchWornShirt, and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Fondazione Milan.
