Royal Antwerp unveils a jersey to celebrate 145 years of history The fourth kit for the 2025/26 season
The Belgian club Royal Antwerp released a truly unique kit on the eve of their away league match against Union Saint-Gilloise - a strip celebrating the 145th anniversary of the club’s founding. In recent years, after all, we have learned that for football clubs every milestone is becoming a useful opportunity to launch a new kit, and the Belgian side confirms this trend as well.
The kit consists of red-and-white hooped socks, red shorts and a strictly long-sleeved shirt, entirely white and marked by a red RAFC (Royal Antwerp FC) embroidery. Considering that the club chose not to use it against Union Saint-Gilloise - probably because it was an away match and therefore the Bosuilstadion fans, home of Royal Antwerp, would not have been able to admire it live - the shirt could make its debut in the next home game against STVV.
On the same weekend in which Juventus presented a shirt very similar in characteristics (classic look, collar, fit) to that of Royal Antwerp, the trend of special kits reviving stylistic elements from the past is confirmed. And similarly to the Bianconeri case, for Royal Antwerp the anniversary kit will serve as the fourth kit for the 2025/26 season.
