Nike unveils USMNT jerseys for World Cup 2026 The inspiration comes from the flag

Nike has officially unveiled the new kits for the United States ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Both the Home Jersey and the Away Jersey give the USMNT a dynamic and contemporary look through a design that reinterprets a key element of American visual identity: the concept of stars and stripes, which has long defined the American flag in popular culture.

The stripes define the Home jersey, a red-and-white horizontally striped shirt designed with a dynamic visual effect. The bands do not run straight across the garment but instead follow a curved path, mimicking the movement of a flag waving in the wind. Details such as the collar and sleeve trims are blue—the same color used for the shorts—while the socks are white. The stars, on the other hand, take center stage on the Away jersey, subtly revealed through a refined tone-on-tone pattern across a navy blue base.

The phrase "Inner Pride", placed inside the collar, is one of the elements shared by both kits and highlights a message of pride and belonging. Alongside the jerseys, the U.S. Soccer Federation has also introduced—for the first time—custom typography and numbering: the font “Stars and Stripes,” designed exclusively for the federation, which will appear on the new kits and continue to define them in the years to come.
