How the people of Naples celebrated the Scudetto
Dreaming of McTominay

It's the second league title in the last three years for Napoli, but it's a very different kind of triumph compared to the one in 2022, which marked the return of the Scudetto to the chest of the Neapolitan club, ending a drought that had lasted since the 1989/90 season. The title celebrated on Friday night was therefore won under completely different circumstances: suffering and uncertainty until the very last matchday, Inter playing away at Como and, for a few minutes, overtaking Napoli in the standings, and then the saves by Cagliari’s Alan Sherri, who denied Napoli a goal for most of the first half. In short, it was a hard-fought Scudetto. We were out on the streets of Naples to capture the atmosphere of a city in celebration, which, at least from that point of view, remained very similar to two years ago: back then, the hero had been Victor Osimhen, with his masks flooding the city, while this year it was Scott McTominay who became the hero of the moment, transforming into McFratm, with Napoli-themed merchandise mostly dedicated to him. And of course, the symbolic number 4 couldn’t be missed, which became N4poli, like the one branded by nss edicola.
