Les Deux and the Detroit Lions explore the connection between workwear and football The limited-edition collaboration brings Copenhagen style and Detroit's sporting identity together

Some cities don't need to explain their identity because they wear it on their sleeves. Detroit is one of them: a metropolis shaped by industry, music and a sporting culture that extends far beyond the field of play. This is the world that inspires LD/DL, the new collaboration between Les Deux and the Detroit Lions, a project that brings the Danish brand into the heart of the NFL, reinterpreting its symbols and codes through the language of workwear.

The relationship between Les Deux and the United States takes on a more specific direction with this new chapter. Together with the Detroit Lions, the NFL franchise founded in 1930, the brand has created a collection that looks beyond the team itself to explore the people, places and everyday rituals that define the character of its home city. The name LD/DL encapsulates the project in its very structure: the initials of Les Deux and Detroit Lions mirror one another, creating a shared identity without erasing the differences between the two worlds. On one side is Copenhagen, with its more understated approach to fashion; on the other, Detroit, where civic pride tends to be expressed more openly. What brings them together is a culture of dressing in which functionality, belonging and collective memory play a central role.

The main collection arrives ahead of the Lions’ regular-season game against the New England Patriots on 15 November at FC Bayern Munich Arena, bringing American football to the heart of Europe. Launched exclusively in Europe on 20 October, the 16-piece collection is led by a brown wool varsity jacket. Washed denim, matching workwear sets and textured knitwear complete a wardrobe that moves between everyday clothing and sports memorabilia. The earthy palette is punctuated by flashes of Honolulu Blue, the Lions' signature colour, while the graphics combine chenille patches, vintage-style helmet illustrations and playful references to the team's imagery. Rather than turning every piece into fan merchandise, the collection uses American football as a starting point for exploring a broader aesthetic culture. Completing the project is ’47, the historic American headwear label founded in Boston in 1947 and deeply rooted in North American professional sports.
