Bayer Leverkusen's first New Balance kit unveiled
The beginning of a new era
July 1st, 2025
After six seasons alongside Jako and three with Castore, Bayer Leverkusen unveils its first Home kit with new technical sponsor New Balance, marking a significant consolidation of the American brand’s presence on the European football scene. The German side begins a new journey with New Balance, which makes its debut in the Bundesliga for the first time in its history. Over the past ten years, New Balance has successfully expanded its presence in the football world, forming partnerships with major European clubs such as Liverpool, Roma, Celtic, Lille, and Porto. Currently, besides the newly added Bayer Leverkusen, only the Portuguese club still holds an active sponsorship deal with the American brand, although the official announcement of New Balance's return to Serie A—on Atalanta's jersey—is just a few days away.
Bayer Leverkusen’s new Home kit features the club’s traditional colors—red and black—in an alternating pattern on a predominantly black base. Alongside New Balance's growth as a technical sponsor for various clubs, questions remain about the brand’s strategy in the football boots market. In Serie A, for example, Timothy Weah is currently the only player endorsed by New Balance. To find other key names linked to the American brand, one must look to La Liga, with Wojciech Szczęsny and Endrick, or to the Premier League, where former Bayer Leverkusen player Jeremie Frimpong is set to become the new face of the brand, taking over the role previously held by Trent Alexander-Arnold.
