The Trefoil lands on Newcastle's new third kit A tribute to the iconic jersey from the 1997/98 season
After making its debut on Inter Miami's new third kit, the Trefoil also appears on the third jersey of Newcastle. The Magpies, together with adidas, unveiled the new kit yesterday with a visually and emotionally impactful video, featuring Samuel Fender, a famous British singer-songwriter and devoted fan of the club. The jersey is inspired by the one worn in the 1997/98 season, when the partnership between adidas and Newcastle produced some of the most iconic kits of the era.
In this specific case, the navy blue base has been faithfully retained, while the orange and green details have been reinterpreted, used on this jersey for the three stripes and to embellish the collar and sleeve cuffs. The jersey also features the club crest stitched on the front, while the collar and cuffs are made of flat knit. The kit is completed by shorts and socks that match the jersey’s navy blue tone.
The new Newcastle third kit is already available on the official adidas website and on the club’s official store.
