Saint George's Cross is back on Genoa's jersey It's coming home
The Saint George's Cross dominates the new Away jersey of Genoa made by Kappa. An iconic symbol of the Republic of Genoa, the red cross runs across the front of the solid white Kombat jersey, enhanced by gold details. This particular shade has been used not only to decorate the back of the collar and the front of the armhole, but also to embellish the Kappa logo and the "gallinaccio" version of the logo—namely, the embossed Griffin. As for the Saint George's Cross, this marks a return, as it was previously used in the 2019/20 season for the Third kit.
The jersey’s launch was accompanied by an internationally inspired campaign: It’s coming home is the claim that celebrates the English roots of Italy’s oldest club, founded in 1893 by English citizens as the Genoa Cricket and Athletic Club. Sam Gregg photographed part of the campaign in Stoke Newington, London — the birthplace of James Richardson Spensley, one of the club's pioneers. The campaign pays tribute to the club's British roots by visually intertwining London and Genoa, two cities linked by centuries of history, art, and culture.
The new jersey is available for purchase in official Genoa stores, on the e-commerce site of genoacfc.it, on kappa.com, and in selected Robe di Kappa retail stores.
