The Met Gala once again proved to be the best showcase for reaffirming the intertwining of fashion and sport. Professional athletes have transformed into style icons with fashion and luxury brands ready to provide outfits and accessories. Even during the 2025 edition, they captured attention for their elegance and style: here are some of the best looks seen at the event held in New York.

Angel Reese

The hype around the WNBA shows no signs of dying down, and the players' tunnel fits have been dubbed the hottest cat walk of 2024. It's no surprise, then, that Angel Reese has once again captured the attention at the Met Gala. If last year the Chicago Sky player caused a stir with a plunging mint green dress, this year Reese opted for a two-piece black dress with a white collar designed by Thom Browne. A black suit and skirt with a white top for Sabrina Ionescu, while Breanna Stewart went for a total white look with a 1930s-inspired hairstyle.

Elegant Prada suit for Dwyane Wade with black pants and shoes paired with a white jacket and a mint green vest. It's worth noting the absence of LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers player had been named co-chair of the event but with a message posted on X a few hours before the start of the event, he announced his absence due to a knee injury suffered during the last NBA playoff game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The other co-chair of the event, Lewis Hamilton, showed up in an ivory suit designed by Wales Bonner with a special story that you can find here.

Damson Idris

Not just Lewis Hamilton. F1 was also a major player at the Met Gala thanks to the entrance of Damson Idris. The British actor, along with Brad Pitt, will star in F1, the film produced by Apple and directed by Joseph Kosinski.

For this reason, Idris showed up on the red carpet wearing the suit of the fictional team from the film, the Expensify APX-GP, designed by Tommy Hilfiger. A surprising look enhanced by what is probably the most expensive helmet in the world, also designed by Tommy Hilfiger and adorned with 20,000 Swarovski crystals.

Simone Biles and Serena Williams

Simone Biles, besides being one of the most successful American athletes of all time, has also proven to be a style icon with this edition of the Met Gala. An aggressive look for the 7-time Olympic gold medalist, a blue mini dress designed by Sergio Hudson covered in diamonds with a white collar closed by a diamond bow tie and a train of the same shade of blue on the top and black on the bottom.

And of course, Serena Williams couldn't miss out: she wore a silk dress designed by Moncler, accompanied by a long quilted cape and a collection of vintage jewelry selected by Fred Leighton. Also present was Venus Williams, who wore a total green Lacoste look with an emerald polo shirt paired with a miniskirt and cape.

Noah Lyles and Sha'Carri Richardson

Noah Lyles, who clinched victory in the 100 meters at the last Olympic Games, brought his iconic style to the Met Gala red carpet, once again adorned with pearls. The athlete showcased an array of rings and necklaces crafted by designer Ana Khouri, complemented by a striking dress from Thom Browne.

Brighter colors for Sha'Carri Richardson. The silver medalist in the 100 meters at the 2024 Paris Olympics wore a Valentino chiffon dress in butter yellow, accompanied by a lavender corset with a floral pattern. Completing the look were a series of bows placed on her long hair, heart-shaped earrings, a pearl bracelet, and small diamonds on her nails.
