GOLF WANG and Tyler The Creator take to the pitch with Barcelona It is the ninth chapter in the series of special shirts created with Spotify
Tyler, The Creator will take to the pitch on the Barcelona shirt in the next Clásico. The Blaugrana and Spotify today unveiled a collaboration with GOLF WANG, the brand founded by the American artist, whose logo will replace that of the music platform on the front of the Catalan club’s shirt against Real Madrid on Sunday, 25 October. Its on-pitch debut will come a day earlier, however, with the women’s team becoming the first to wear the shirt in their Liga F match against Granada.

Alongside the special shirt, the launch also includes a capsule collection combining football and streetwear, a campaign directed by Tyler himself and Copa De Golf, an event in the city featuring artists and talents connected to the brand. It is the ninth chapter of a four-year project that has turned the changing sponsor logo on Barça’s shirt into a regular event.
Barça by Tyler, The Creator
“GOLF meets GOALS”: this is how Barcelona announced its collaboration with GOLF WANG, whose logo will appear on the special shirt in the space normally reserved for Spotify. The shirt has been unveiled alongside a collection of clothing and accessories that reflects the brand’s taste, colours and motifs.
The match shirt will be available in 1,899 Match-quality editions, alongside several exclusive versions: 22 shirts signed by players from the men’s and women’s teams, and another 11 autographed by Tyler. The capsule collection includes a brown letterman jacket with turquoise Barça lettering, a Copa De Golf jacket and a long-sleeved leopard-print shirt. Hoodies, T-shirts, shorts, socks and accessories complete the collection, including a scarf, water bottle and football.
The collection is already available online and at GOLF WANG stores in Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Sydney and London, as well as at Barça’s official stores in Spain. The special shirt will also make its way into eFootball, with the GOLF-branded Barça kit becoming available to use in KONAMI’s video game from 23 October.
A different kind of collaboration
For the first time, Spotify has given an artist and their brand full creative control over the audiovisual and graphic campaign. Tyler, The Creator directed the promotional short film that accompanied the launch of the shirt and collection.
Alongside his career as an artist - combining hip-hop, R&B, soul and funk - Tyler, The Creator is also a producer and designer. His most-streamed song on Spotify is See You Again, which has surpassed three billion plays. “Tyler brings his creative universe to this collaboration, extending far beyond the shirt”, explained Marc Hazan, Spotify’s Senior Vice President of Marketing & Partnerships, who stressed that the campaign, collection and event are all connected to GOLF WANG’s identity. “Every logo change on the shirt has taken us into new territory, but this one is different”, he added. “From the campaign imagery to the collection and the immersive event in Barcelona, every element is rooted in the world of GOLF WANG, making this one of our most exciting collaborations with Barcelona”.
“There are few brighter stages in the world than El Clásico”, reads GOLF WANG’s statement, which describes the collaboration as a reflection of the brand’s identity at the intersection of football and fashion. According to Joan Soler, spokesperson for the club’s commercial department, the release is part of “an initiative that has become part of the anticipation surrounding this match, allowing us to reach a global audience. The collaboration between Barcelona and Spotify continues to create new connections between football, music and contemporary culture, highlighting their ability to bring people together”.
From Drake to Travis Scott: the previous chapters
Barça’s series of special shirts created with music artists began in October 2022 with Drake, when the OVO owl replaced Spotify’s logo on the shirt to celebrate the artist reaching 50 billion streams on the platform. Rosalía’s MOTOMAMI lettering followed in March 2023, before the Rolling Stones tongue appeared in October of the same year to mark the release of the album Hackney Diamonds.
In 2024, the featured artists were Karol G, represented by her barbed-wire heart, and Coldplay, with a symbol inspired by the album Moon Music. In May 2025, it was the turn of Travis Scott’s label, Cactus Jack, as part of a broader collaboration that also included a capsule collection and a concert in Barcelona.
The two most recent chapters were dedicated to Play, the eighth album by Ed Sheeran, and to Olivia Rodrigo last May, who was also at the centre of a collection and a live performance in the city. The spotlight now passes to GOLF WANG and Tyler, The Creator for the ninth instalment in the series.
