Umbro and Aitor Throup announce a new collaboration 14 years since the debut

14 years after their first collaboration, Umbro and Aitor Throup reunite to bring to life a cutting-edge project. The founder of New Object Research, after announcing his return to the fashion world, launches a collection with Umbro aimed at challenging and subverting the traditional codes of football training apparel through future-oriented product innovation. The collection is set to launch in April 2026, with the goal of rewriting the rules of design not only in football but across the entire landscape of technical apparel.

Umbro first collaborated with Throup in 2009 for the design of the England national team's home kit—an occasion where the artist and designer introduced his distinctive aesthetic—progressive and minimalist—into the football imagination. Following the success of that collaboration, in 2011 Umbro strengthened its relationship with Throup with the launch of the Archive Research Project, a capsule collection that reinterpreted the brand's iconic designs, defining a new design language specific to football.

The third chapter of the collaboration between Umbro and Aitor Throup will take place during SS26 in partnership with Slam Jam, the Italian pioneer of sportswear and streetwear, which will handle international distribution.
