After the excitement of the Monza Grand Prix, Formula 1 heads to Madrid 45 years after its last visit. The last Grand Prix held in the Spanish capital dates back to 1981, when the Jarama circuit hosted F1 for the final time. The 2026 edition, however, will be an entirely new chapter, with the cars racing on the MADRING Circuit, a 5.416 km street circuit featuring a total of 22 corners. All eyes will of course be on Kimi Antonelli, but just as happened one week ago in Italy, Formula 1's arrival in Spain also comes with an aesthetic dimension that extends beyond the track.
Enter Pompeii, a brand born in the Spanish capital, which has teamed up directly with Formula 1 to create the race's official capsule collection. Comprising nine unisex pieces, the collection takes some of the most recognisable codes of racing and brings them beyond the circuit through an everyday reinterpretation of motorsport's visual identity. The Pit Crew Jacket, Mechanic Shirt and Glove Tee become the starting points of a collection that transforms uniforms, paddock details and references to racing culture into pieces designed for the streets of the city.
Rather than simply applying the Formula 1 logo to a series of garments, Pompeii has worked with the visual language of racing. Graphics developed specifically for the project, references to the work of mechanics, pit crew uniforms and the aesthetic that has long surrounded motorsport come together in a wardrobe that looks at racing through the lens of streetwear. It is an approach that also reflects the way Formula 1 is progressively expanding its cultural reach.
