The 10 best Bundesliga kits of the 2026/27 season From retro-inspired designs to jerseys celebrating iconic stadiums
Aesthetics have always been one of the Bundesliga’s greatest strengths. From its visual identity, which makes the league instantly recognisable around the world, to the visual language that defines every aspect of its presentation, every detail is carefully considered to create value. Football jerseys fit perfectly into this picture: here are the ones we believe are the best of the 2026/27 season.
Borussia Dortmund - PUMA - Away jersey
There’s no way to make a list of the best Bundesliga jerseys without mentioning Borussia Dortmund. For the 2026/27 season, we picked the Away jersey, a solid black shirt featuring a tone-on-tone zigzag pattern by PUMA, a tribute to the Yellow Wall. A mandarin collar adds an elegant touch, while subtle white details can be found on the back of the collar and around the armholes.
Bayern Munich - adidas - Away jersey
For Bayern Munich, we also opted for the Away jersey. It would be impossible to choose otherwise, as adidas has created a shirt that exudes elegance and sophistication in every detail: from the trefoil and embroidered collar to the embossed pattern and the red and navy blue finishes.
Schalke 04 - adidas - Away jersey
At this point, a disclaimer is necessary: the vintage collections developed by adidas will have a major presence on this list. Take, for example, the Schalke 04 Away jersey, the first to feature the trefoil since the 1993/94 season, which is an instant classic. A timeless design elevated by just a handful of details in the same shade of blue as the club’s iconic crest, deliberately brought back to enhance the kit’s heritage.
Bayer Leverkusen - New Balance - Home jersey
Vertical stripes are back on Bayer Leverkusen’s Home jersey. The last time they appeared was in the 2021/22 season, and since then the Werkself have consistently worn different takes on their traditional club colors, red and black. New Balance not only brings the classic pattern back, but also pays tribute to the club’s stadium, with the jersey design inspired by the architecture of the BayArena roof.
Mainz - Jako - Third jersey
Architecture also takes center stage on the Third jersey created by Jako for Mainz. This time, however, the inspiration comes from the city’s Romanesque aesthetic, with an anthracite base and peach-pink details referencing some of its most iconic landmarks, including Mainz Cathedral, which features prominently in the shoot accompanying the jersey’s launch.
Eintracht Frankfurt - adidas - Away jersey
For the return of the trefoil to Eintracht Frankfurt’s jerseys, adidas has delivered a masterpiece. A jersey with a distinct '80s aesthetic, stripped back and elevated by the eagle, the club’s iconic crest, which gives the kit plenty of character while preserving its unmistakably elegant feel.
Werder Bremen - hummel - Away jersey
In the Bundesliga, where aesthetic identity is taking on an increasingly central role, Werder Bremen clearly stands out as a point of reference. The new visual identity developed in collaboration with Societas is simply the latest step in a process that began with hummel, the club’s technical sponsor since 2023. This season’s Away jersey looks destined to become one of those shirts that will keep popping up on our feeds in the years to come as an example of an underrated masterpiece. Credit goes to the elegant shade of green, paired with a subtle tone-on-tone vertical stripe pattern and orange and white details that give the jersey a distinctly contemporary feel.
Union Berlin - adidas - Home jersey
For a moment, let’s put aesthetics aside and let emotions take over. The reason is simple: Union Berlin’s new adidas Home jersey is a tribute to the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. A stadium with a truly unique history, which you can read about here.
Augsburg - Mizuno - Home jersey
In a surprise move, Mizuno has moved away from the white, red and green color scheme that has long defined Augsburg’s Home jerseys, but the result is nothing short of spectacular. The club’s signature colors are still present, of course, but this time they run through the marble-like veining across the cream-colored base. The jersey is finished with gold details and a series of elements that pay tribute to the city’s history and traditions.
Cologne - adidas - Away jersey
The trefoil takes center stage once again on Cologne’s Away jersey, with adidas celebrating the return of the Three Stripes to the Die Geißböcke’s shirts for the first time since 2008. The design looks even further back in time, however: the pattern of thin white stripes on a red base draws directly from an aesthetic seen during the club’s previous collaboration with adidas in the 1980s. A clear nod to the past that turns this jersey into a perfect example of retro football aesthetics.
