Barcelona will wear Ed Sheeran’s logo on their home shirt A new chapter in the commercial partnership with Spotify
Since Barcelona signed its commercial partnership with Spotify, the build-up to the first Clásico of the season has always carried a bit more anticipation than in previous years. It’s precisely on the occasion of the most important match of the year for the Blaugrana that Spotify, in collaboration with the club, creates a special jersey dedicated to an internationally renowned artist. The clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid is scheduled for October 26 at the Santiago Bernabéu, and this time the Spotify logo on the Blaugrana shirts will be replaced by that of Ed Sheeran.
The reference to the British singer will be represented by the handwritten yellow word Play — the title of his tenth studio album — placed at the center of the home jersey. This marks the seventh collaboration between Barcelona and the music world through Spotify. In the past, the Blaugrana shirt has featured the logos of Travis Scott, Coldplay, Karol G, The Rolling Stones, Rosalía and Drake. The new customized shirt with Ed Sheeran’s logo will also be worn by Barça Femení on October 19 during their match against Granada. The collaboration also includes the release of a playlist curated directly by the singer. Here, the club reintroduces the initiative launched last season, when players took turns sharing their personal playlists, which were then made available on the club’s official Spotify profile.
A total of 1,899 units of this special jersey will be produced in the authentic version — a number that refers to the year the club was founded. There will also be a second exclusive collection consisting of 22 signed shirts from the starting players of both the Clásico and the match against Granada, as well as 11 special jerseys signed by Ed Sheeran. Finally, the two parties also unveiled a lifestyle collection featuring the tagline Play like Barça.
