Liverpool returns to the iconic Teamgeist design adidas unveils the new Reds' kits for the 2025/26 season

The first adidas collection for Liverpool has arrived, featuring the launch of the new Home jersey and Away jersey for the 2025/26 season. Two shirts that fully honor tradition. With the reintroduction of the Teamgeist, the Home jersey is a clear reference to the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons, a solid red shirt with white details: from the club logo to the sponsors, from the fabric piping that outlines the Teamgeist curve on the front to the three stripes running across the shoulders and connecting to the collar, which is finished with a red stripe that matches the jersey’s tone. White is also used for a small patch applied on the back of the collar, featuring two flames encasing the number 97, in tribute to the victims of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster.

The patch, this time in red, also appears on the Away jersey: a solid white shirt enhanced with a tone-on-tone embroidered pattern. As mentioned, tradition is respected here too, but we also see some early aesthetic experimentation. Take the collar, for example: a very subtle V-neck that, at the neck’s center, is made from the jersey fabric itself, then widens into two black fabric stripes at the front and red ones at the back to connect with the three stripes. Black is also used to finish the sleeve cuffs on the short-sleeve version and the wrist cuffs on the longsleeve version.

The Home and Away kits are available to purchase from the official Liverpool and adidas store.

A surprising choice was also made regarding the logo. It’s still the iconic Liver Bird with the L.F.C. acronym below it, but while on the Home jersey it’s embroidered in white on a red background, the Away jersey uses a different patch. The Liver Bird still appears in white, in a slightly lighter shade than the jersey, because it’s been placed inside a red shield: a solution never before used. Since its introduction on playing kits in 2012, the Liver Bird had changed color based on the kit, but had always been displayed freely and never inside a shield. As confirmed by the club, the design is inspired by the shape of Anfield's Main Stand from 1906.
