Beats by Dre cannot resist the charm of football
After Messi and Haaland, it's time for Yamal
May 9th, 2025
Lamine Yamal joins the Beats by Dre family: the news came on the eve of the Clásico, with the Barcelona star being announced as the brand's new global ambassador. Despite not yet being 18 years old, Yamal is already proving to be a global star, both on and off the field. A safe choice for brands. He will soon reach an agreement for an exclusive deal on sunglasses, but for now, music remains his main focus. The launch video portrays Yamal as the CEO of Beats by Dre, and to enhance his aesthetic as a phenomenon in both football and social media, his friend Morad was also involved in the production.
Beats by Dre has always been attentive to cultivating a relationship with the world of sports, finding LeBron James as the best possible testimonial. The brand has perfectly leveraged the media power of athletes, understanding the potential of the iconic image of a professional athlete locked in before a game, entering the stadium or arena wearing a pair of headphones to isolate themselves from the rest of the world. In this context, football could not be ignored, and so Yamal became the latest footballer to join Beats by Dre. A natural choice, given that in recent weeks, as part of the partnership between Spotify and Barcelona, a playlist curated by Yamal was released.
In the beginning, Neymar was chosen as testimonial, becoming the face of the brand during the 2014 World Cup. An ad was created with him as the main protagonist, also involving other footballers such as Fabregas and Van Persie. The goal has always been to involve global icons, so it's no surprise that even Lionel Messi has worn Beats by Dre headphones, and recently participated in the launch of the Pro 2 Powerbeats model alongside LeBron James and Shohei Ohtani. But the connection with football has not only developed with players, as a special line was also created for MLS teams, along with various commercial agreements with Bayern Munich. More recently, Beats by Dre has focused on Erling Haaland, using the Norwegian striker's cyborg-like aura to create a campaign accompanied by the slogan "Nothing Ordinary About Erling Haaland".
