Fiorentina's new Home jersey by Kappa is a deep dive into the '90s
You can't get more nostalgic than this
May 19th, 2025
Yesterday, Fiorentina took the field for their final home game of the season at the Artemio Franchi stadium, wearing the new Home kit by Kappa for the 2025/26 season. And the debut couldn’t have gone better: Raffaele Palladino’s team defeated Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna 3–2, fresh off their Coppa Italia victory.
The new kit marks a strong return to the design and geometry that defined the 1990s and early 2000s. It draws particular inspiration from the Home jersey worn during the 1999/00 season. The 2025/26 version stands out for its tone-on-tone side graphics that enhance the Giglio (fleur-de-lis), creating a unique pattern. The traditional white V-shaped contrasts on the collar and sleeve edges complete the color identity, while the silhouette ensures an ergonomic and tailored fit. The jersey’s launch, accompanied by a photoshoot that intentionally evokes a 1990s aesthetic, is a well-executed tribute to the Tuscan club’s glorious past.
The 1999/00 season is fondly remembered by Viola fans, especially for the team’s – albeit brief – journey in the Champions League. And of course, for an unforgettable lineup led by Chiesa, Rui Costa, and Batistuta. We’ll have an entire season to rediscover that era through this new kit, further proof that football not only doesn’t shy away from nostalgia but celebrates it with pride.
