The aesthetic of motorsport according to Team Ikuzawa Milan Design Week was the perfect opportunity to unveil the new collection
Team Ikuzawa has also made its mark at the Milano Design Week, unveiling a new collection that further strengthens the connection between the aesthetics of motorsport and the world of fashion. A series of garments and objects that reflect the racing universe, highlighting its most important aspects while also incorporating innovative elements.
The elegance of form, for instance, is expressed through refined design used to create a series of sunglasses available in different colorways. The adrenaline generated by speed is echoed in an ’80s-style jacket, as well as in a limited edition track jacket designed by Chris Labrooy. Completing the collection is a range of accessories, including a field chair and a water bottle designed for life in the stands during races.
Mai Ikuzawa hosted the pop-up space Da Orient, which served as Team Ikuzawa’s hub during Design Week. It is an environment where the boundaries between disciplines dissolve and design opens up to continuous cross-pollination. Ikuzawa’s work fits into this context as a hybrid practice, capable of transforming automotive aesthetics into a cultural and design language. In motorsport, every detail is functional to speed; in contemporary fashion, every detail communicates dynamism, energy, and adaptability.
