Yes, adidas literally stopped traffic in LA The new away kits spotted beneath the Lower Grand Tunnel

The World Cup is just around the corner and national teams have started unveiling the kits they will wear on the pitch across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This time, adidas has decided to go big. To present the new away kits, it chose to (literally) stop traffic in Los Angeles.

We were in fact in the heart of Downtown, beneath one of the city’s most iconic bridges: the Lower Grand Tunnel, which for one day was transformed into an international stage. In this location, adidas unveiled 26 away kits from its partner federations: from Argentina to Italy, from Mexico to Germany, including Japan and South Africa. Each kit is conceived as a visual narrative built through colors and details that reflect the cultural identity of each country.

The real highlight, however, is the return of the Trefoil from adidas Originals on away kits, 34 years later. A detail that brings football back into the brand’s lifestyle aesthetic and once again underlines how the line between sport and fashion is becoming increasingly blurred.

The event, named THREE LANES, completely flipped the imagery of Los Angeles traffic. Stopped cars, red lights, and blocked lanes became the backdrop of an open-air celebration. On the decks was KAYTRANADA alongside Jadaboo and Noodles, while Baby Keem led the highlight moment of the night with his performance. Among the guests were also Kendall Jenner, Damson Idris, Hoyeon, Gabbriette and Skip Marley, confirming how the project went beyond a simple product launch.

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, adidas didn’t just present new kits: it turned an everyday space into a collective moment, reminding us that football is not just a game, but a cultural language capable of bringing together cities, people, and different scenes. And for one night, even stopping Los Angeles.
