Pink Floyd's football club inspired Inter's new capsule A tribute for the 50th anniversary of the release of Wish You Were Here
Unexpectedly, Inter unveils a special collaboration with Pink Floyd. The initiative, created as a tribute together with Sony Music Italy, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the release of Wish You Were Here, one of the most iconic albums in music history. At the same time, this collaboration brings back to light a little-known chapter in the band’s history.
The PFFC Collection is in fact inspired by the Pink Floyd Football Club, the football team founded by the band in the 1970s, which used to play during breaks from touring and was made up of David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and several members of the crew. The iconic Kim Gottlieb-Walker photograph of the PFFC serves as the inspiration for the collection, which features an exclusive retro jersey reinterpreting 1970s aesthetics in a contemporary key, blending Pink Floyd’s identity codes with those of Inter. The PFFC acronym stands out at the center, just like on the original shirt worn in the historic photo. The sleeves are enriched with the Inter logo and the iconic handshake symbol, one of the most recognizable elements of Pink Floyd’s visual universe and featured on the cover of the album. The same stylistic elements also define the other items in the collection: scarf, tote bag, guitar picks, and drumsticks.
Alongside the PFFC Collection, Inter also presents two exclusive products, both released in limited editions, entirely dedicated to celebrating the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here: the Anthem Jacket Limited Edition—limited to just 400 numbered pieces and featuring an exclusive packaging—which Inter players will wear during the pre-match warm-up of Inter vs Cagliari on April 17, and a special bundle consisting of an unreleased T-shirt and an Exclusive Blue Vinyl, produced in 1,908 copies.
