Among the trails of Val di Fassa, where the Dolomites become an integral part of the race itself, one of the most iconic events on the international trail running and skyrunning calendar returned once again this year. The 2026 edition of the DoloMyths Run powered by Salomon welcomed thousands of athletes from Italy and around the world to Canazei, turning July 11 and 12 into a weekend celebrating mountain running at its highest level.
As tradition dictates, the event featured three races: the DoloMyths Run 12K and the Fassa Trail 42K, both held on Saturday, followed by the renowned DoloMyths Run Skyrace on Sunday. The flagship race took competitors across one of the most spectacular courses in international skyrunning, passing through Passo Pordoi, Forcella Pordoi and Piz Boè, with demanding elevation gains, highly technical terrain and a breathtaking alpine landscape.
In a setting like this, Salomon's presence comes as no surprise. A long-standing partner of the event, the French brand has played a key role in the growth of trail running worldwide for years. For the 2026 edition, Salomon fielded its entire Italian trail running team, reaffirming a philosophy that goes well beyond simply sponsoring competitions. The brand's goal is to support athletes throughout a long-term development journey, helping both established runners and the next generation of talent reach their full potential.
The weekend also confirmed the strength of Salomon's sporting project. In the DoloMyths Run Skyrace, Lorenzo Cagnati claimed victory after recently competing at the 2026 Mountain Running European Championships, further establishing himself as one of Italy's leading mountain and trail runners. The women's race also delivered impressive results for the team, with Beatrice Bianchi, who joined Salomon in 2026, finishing second, while Elisa Presa secured fourth place and Celeste Zanella crossed the line in seventh.
Salomon also enjoyed a strong performance in the Fassa Trail 42K. Alice Testini finished second, confirming the steady progress that has already earned her a place on Italy's national trail running team. Sofiia Porokhnavets completed the women's podium in third, while experienced Italian trail runner Virginia Oliveri claimed seventh place.
The DoloMyths Run 12K highlighted the emergence of the sport's next generation. Luna Giovanetti claimed overall victory while also winning the Under-23 category. In the men's race, Samuel Demetz finished second ahead of Luca Cagnati, while Stefano Perardi and Marco Filosi completed another strong team performance by placing fourth and sixth respectively.
Perhaps the most meaningful result came in the men's Under-23 category, where the top four finishers all represented Salomon. More than any marketing campaign, this achievement reflects the brand's long-term vision: investing in young athletes, supporting their development over time and helping shape the future of trail running.
At a time when trail running continues to attract new participants and an ever-growing audience, the DoloMyths Run once again proved why it remains one of the sport's benchmark events. At the same time, it showed how a brand's commitment can extend far beyond its products, becoming a tangible investment in mountain culture, athletic talent and the continued evolution of one of the fastest-growing disciplines in endurance sports.
