Basso Bikes and A KIND OF GUISE take cycling apparel to the next level A collaboration between two entities for which craftsmanship is an essential element of their identity
A KIND OF GUISE and Basso Bikes announce GIRO ALPINO, a collaboration between two family-run companies united by a shared commitment to craftsmanship, local production and the joy of discovery. The project takes shape and its own visual identity through the mind of Mirko Borsche. Inspired by the Giro d’Italia and long-distance cycling culture, GIRO ALPINO interprets cycling not only as a sport, but as a way of discovering landscapes, communities and the people who bring them to life. Founded in Bassano del Grappa, Basso Bikes has been producing frames and forks in Italy since its inception, with every bicycle assembled at its headquarters. A KIND OF GUISE likewise maintains a strong commitment to European production, creating its collections across Germany, Italy and Portugal through long-standing relationships with local artisans and manufacturers.
At the center of the project is the Basso Diamante, the clearest expression of Basso Bikes’ heritage, reinterpreted in an exclusive GIRO ALPINO colorway. Handmade in Italy using Toray T40 and T30 carbon fiber, the frame weighs 760 grams and is finished in a vibrant palette that reflects the shared identity of both brands. Highlights of the collection include two patchwork pieces, a windbreaker and a bike garage, all hand-assembled from reclaimed technical fabrics. The capsule also includes technical cycling apparel and lifestyle pieces: a cycling jersey, a vest, bib shorts, two graphic T-shirts, a long-sleeve jersey, a hoodie, and jewelry.
