During last weekend Bayern Munich grabbed their 34th domestic title, allowing Thomas Müller to cement once more his name into football's legacy: by winning 13 titles, he has become the player who won the most league titles in the history of the Bundesliga. This record is destined to last for long, if not forever, and it is the best way for Müller to celebrate the end of his 25 years relationship with the club. At the end of the season he will part ways with Bayern Munich and for this reason Bayern’s next home game against Borussia Monchengladbach, scheduled for May 10th, has turned into the chance for the fans for one last goodbye to the club's legend. In that same game fans will have a chance to see in action for the very first time the new away jersey created by adidas for the 2025/26 season.

It is a white jersey with a pixelated fantasy realized with small white, grey and bright coral squares. All combined, they create the muffled silhouette of the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich’s home ground. The stadium outline can be seen also on the back of the jersey thanks to a patch placed on the back of the neck. The jersey has been developed with the aim to pay tribute to the 20th anniversary of the stadium opening in 2005. Ironically, the first Bundesliga’s home game played by Bayern Munich in their brand new ground happened to be against Borussia Monchengladbach. Allianz Arena was built as part of the 2006 World Cup that took place in Germany and the ground hosted the first official match of the tournament between Germany and Costa Rica. It immediately became a benchmark. It has been one of the first cases in selling the naming rights in the world of football. It has also been one of the first stadiums where led panels were installed on the exterior surface in order to create an atmosphere on night games.

It should be no surprise that UEFA has chosen this stadium for various events: it has been part of the itinerant Euro2020, it hosted the 2012 Champions League final with Bayern Munich losing against Chelsea on penalty kicks and it will be the venue for the next Champions League’s final set to be played on May 31st. Nevertheless, the stylistic curiosity is not related to the stadium’s celebration. The real detail that makes this jersey special is the official return of the Teamgeist, the design developed by adidas for the 2006 World Cup set to be reintroduced by the German company during next season. This is the reason why the jersey is adorned with a curvilinear style, the famous “8shape”, in this case recreated with a textile strap of the same shade of the coral used for the pixelated fantasy on the front of the jersey. A solution used to embellish the necklace too, a crew neck on the front with curves on the sides.
