
The new Barcelona's away kit is a tribute to Kobe Bryant Football is the setting for the official debut of the Mamba Mentality
After a long wait, the new Barcelona Away jersey dedicated to Kobe Bryant has finally been unveiled. The Kobe Sheath, the iconic sword-in-sheath logo introduced in 2003 and designed by Eric Ava, replaces the Swoosh on this solid gold jersey, which features a snake-skin texture and is completed with black and purple accents on the crew neck collar and sleeve hems.
The snake-skin texture has also been used to decorate Barcelona's crest, which is embossed on the left side without the traditional club colors, instead reproduced using a reflective shade of gray reminiscent of the Kobe Sheath. The logo Spotify logo, the main sponsor, appears in black at the center of the jersey. The kit is completed with black shorts with purple detailing and the same texture as the jersey, while the socks are black with “Barça” written in purple. Alongside the jersey, a matching pre-match top has also been released— a solid black shirt with purple details.
Through this collaboration, which will last at least three seasons until 2027/28, Nike and Barcelona not only pay tribute to Kobe Bryant's work ethic—his famous Mamba Mentality—but also celebrate the NBA legend’s love for football. The debut of the new Away kit will take place on July 31, when Barcelona will face FC Seoul in a friendly match during their Asia tour.
