Welcome to Al-Awwal Park The stadium in Saudi Arabia where, once again, the Italian Super Cup will be played

For the 2025/26 edition as well, Lega Serie A has confirmed the Final Four format for the Italian Super Cup. As already happened in 2024 and last season, the tournament will take place in Saudi Arabia, from December 18 to 22. The stadium will once again be Al-Awwal Park, the stadium of King Saud University, home of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr. It is a 26,000-seat venue, inaugurated in 2015, and inspired by modern European design. It has a rectangular layout with rounded corners and a single structure whose roof is supported by concrete beams placed at regular intervals along the entire structure. The roof coverage is uniform with the exception of a bulge at the level of the west stand, where the main stand and VIP area are located.

The only difference compared to European stadiums is related to the local climate: given the scarce rainfall, it was decided to create minimal coverage, and in fact not all seats are sheltered. Inside, the stadium reflects Al Nassr’s club colors: most of the seats are painted yellow, with the exception of the main stand where the seats are blue. The same shade of blue has also been used for some details such as handrails, exits, and the aforementioned concrete beams that support the roof. It is here that Inter, Milan, Napoli, and Bologna will compete for the 38th edition of the Italian Super Cup.

The agreement currently in force between Lega Serie A and the General Sports Authority (GSA), the government body responsible for sport in Saudi Arabia, provides that another edition of the Italian Super Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia by 2028. For this edition, the total prize pool amounts to 23 million euros: the team that wins the Super Cup will be guaranteed 9.5 million euros, a figure that could reach a total of 11 million euros if the friendly match against the Saudi team that wins the local Super Cup is confirmed. From a regulatory standpoint, Lega Serie A has confirmed that in the event of a draw after 90 minutes, matches will go directly to penalty kicks without extra time, both in the two semifinals and in the final. Finally, the orange ball used in the league will not be used—namely the winter version of the Orbita Hi-Vis—but instead a gold version of the official Serie A ball.
