Ferrari is also venturing into the world of sailing with the Ferrari Hypersail project. Under the visionary guidance of Giovanni Soldini, the Prancing Horse is ready to take on the seas with an unprecedented project. An adventure that will not only revolutionize the sailing world, but also mark the evolution of the Ferraris of the future. Today, more details have emerged about the first Ferrari boat: a revolutionary 100-foot ocean racing prototype, designed to fly stably on three points of support. Its unique innovation connects a foil to a canting keel, while the other two support points are a foil on the rudder and two alternating lateral foils. The boat was designed by French designer Guillaume Verdier.
The launch is scheduled for 2026, followed by the first sea trials. This ambitious project brings Ferrari's racing DNA into the nautical world, venturing into uncharted territory and redefining the limits of what is possible. At its core, a challenge never faced before: a fully flying ocean racing sailboat. Ferrari’s most advanced technology merges with nautical innovation in the world’s first full-foil monohull capable of ensuring complete energy autonomy. Hypersail marks the beginning of a new era in ocean navigation, where the harmonious synthesis of performance and self-sufficiency sets new standards for maritime innovation, with no compromises.
Ferrari thus confirms its intention to broaden its horizons—not just luxury cars and sporting projects related to F1, and not forgetting fashion. The first step was marked by its return to endurance racing, which coincided with an unexpected success, as Ferrari has won the last three editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with three different cars. Now comes the sailing project which, in the words of Team Principal Giovanni Soldini: "is allowing us to build a boat that is revolutionary in many respects. From a nautical perspective, it is innovative in both its construction and the way it will fly; on the systems side, Ferrari’s contribution is promoting the development of a level of control never seen before on board. To best prepare for the variability and power of the phenomena and conditions faced at sea, our priority is to strike a balance between the pursuit of extreme performance and maximum reliability."
