The Nike x KITH Air Maestro 2 High The collection designed by Ronnie Fieg in collaboration with Scottie Pippen will hit the stores today
Ronnie Fieg will be releasing his first drop of the KITH x Nike Pippen Collection this evening with the arrival of both colorways of the KITH x Nike Maestro 2 High. The release of the collection was announced earlier this week by "Take Flight", a stunning short video starring Scottie Pippen reflecting on the evolution of basketball and his role in its development.
The Nike Maestro 2 was a sneaker commonly worn by Scottie Pippen during his early days in the league before he received his first signature model from Nike. He most famously wore an all-red model in the 1994 All Star Game when he won MVP.
The silhouette has been heightened due to the incorporation of an inner-sock that features dual-strap closures on the sides. The entire upper has also been revamped, as Fieg added a tech-zipper closure on the medial side for increased accessibility. Lastly, a mini-Swoosh logo has been added to the toe box as a nod to some of Fieg’s favorite Nike basketball models from the 1990’s. Each model also includes custom-printed leather insoles that exhibit Pippen’s career statistics.
The first colorway features three different shades of purple, which is a nod to Pippen’s college years at the University of Central Arkansas, whose school color is purple. The other colorway features a red upper atop a black midsole, which pays homage to the model Pippen wore in the ’94 All Star Game.
