Wimbledon is approaching, and brands are also getting ready for the most elegant tennis tournament of all. Among them, adidas stands out, having chosen to reintroduce the Trefoil logo on the uniforms of the tennis players sponsored by the German brand (Tsitsipas, Svitolina, Mensik and Zverev)—a symbol that has also become iconic on the football jerseys of clubs it sponsors. This move comes with the launch of the London Originals Collection, inspired by the aesthetic style of the 1972 edition of Wimbledon, an era dominated by personalities like Stan Smith. The inspiration from that historic tournament is embedded in every element of the collection, including the collars—a symbol of 1970s tennis style—and green details inspired by the tournament’s grass courts, which decorate the Trefoil logo and contrasting stitching. The collection also introduces a number of unique design elements, such as the argyle pattern featured on the polo shirt.

The London Originals Collection, which of course adheres to Wimbledon’s strict dress code, includes additional items such as men’s trousers and a women’s two-piece outfit, both inspired by the classic Adibreak design with snap buttons. Completing the apparel collection is a new range of accessories, including a tennis bag, a bucket hat, and a handbag. Stefanos Tsitsipas, adidas athlete, commented: “This tournament has always meant something special to me. As a child, I and so many other athletes dreamed of playing here. I’ve always admired the legends of this sport—players like Stan Smith, who made the Trefoil iconic on the court. I often watch clips from matches of that era, always appreciating the style seen on the court, so I love the idea that adidas is bringing all that back to life through pieces that feel and look extraordinary, both on and off the court.”

Kerryn Foster, General Manager of adidas Specialist Sports, added: “This collection represents a carefully curated balance between refined design and technical precision. Both modern and timeless, it brings to life an elegant court style through versatile pieces that perfectly fit both high performance and everyday wear. Working within the essential color palette of the London Originals Collection demands even greater attention to detail—creating depth through materials, silhouettes, and artisanal finishes. Each piece has a strong identity of its own, but together they tell a coherent story.”

The collection is already available on adidas' e-commerce site.
