All the medals of Milan Cortina 2026 A total of 1146 Olympic and Paralympic Games
The countdown to the opening of Milano Cortina 2026, the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled from February 6 to 22, 2026, and from March 6 to 15, 2026, is speeding ahead. After unveiling the official posters of the event, another key milestone was reached yesterday with the presentation of the medals that will be awarded to the athletes who will be standing on the podium and from that moment on can proudly call themselves Olympians for the rest of their lives.
Aesthetically, the three medals (gold, silver, and bronze) feature an abstract design born from the fusion of two constantly moving elements, highlighted by the contrast between a rough texture and a reflective surface. The design, essential and pure, is developed through simple lines that evoke the concepts of unity and dynamism. They were created by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS), the official sponsor of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The front of the medals features the five rings for the Olympic Games, while the medals for Paralympic athletes are marked with the Agitos, the official logo of the Paralympic Games. The reverse side is characterized by the Milano Cortina 2026 logo and the name of the discipline for which the medal was awarded. In the Paralympic version, in addition to the engraving, there is also braille lettering.
A total of 1,146 medals will be awarded: 245 gold, 245 silver, and 245 bronze for the Olympic Games, and 137 gold, 137 silver, and 137 bronze for the Paralympic Games. All medals have a diameter of 80 mm and a thickness of 10 mm. The gold medal weighs 500 grams plus an additional 6 grams of gold, the silver medal weighs 500 grams, and the bronze medal weighs 420 grams.
