Haiti and Finlandia bring fashion to the Olympic Games Drawing inspiration from the art of Édouard Duval-Carrié and the landscapes of Lapland

On the eve of the opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, Haiti and Finland also join the list of national teams (truth be told, by now almost all of them) that have managed to elevate their image through noteworthy formalwear or athleticwear. In short, after listing in recent weeks all the brands set to dress Team USA, and more recently highlighting how two teams such as Lithuania and Jamaica managed to steal the spotlight, attention now turns to the looks that the Brazilian team (dressed by Moncler) will wear in the stunning setting of San Siro.

Finland - Luhta Sportswear Company

The uniforms that the Finnish Olympic and Paralympic teams will wear at the opening ceremony were unveiled during a fashion show held in Milan on February 4, 2026. They are designed by Luhta, a Finnish brand specializing in outdoor apparel. “The design of the collection created by Luhta for the Finnish team ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games was inspired by Finnish Lapland, particularly its unique nature, its silence, and those incredible moments it offers,” said Jeri Luhtanen, Division Director of Luhta Sportswear Company. “Above all, the moment when the sun sets in the North and the last rays of the day paint the sky and the surrounding landscape in distinctive shades of blue: a truly evocative moment that transforms the scenery into something magical, and one we wanted to capture and translate into the collection designed for our team.”

Haiti - Stella Jean

Haiti will take part in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games with just two athletes, Richi Viano and Stevenson Savart. Despite this, or perhaps precisely to highlight a small delegation, the national team chose to collaborate with Stella Jean, the Italian brand founded by designer Stella Novarino. A choice that is both coherent and meaningful, considering that the designer grew up in Rome alongside her mother of Haitian origin.

This is not Stella Jean’s first foray into sportswear, nor her first collaboration with the national team, nor her Olympic debut. The designer had already created the team’s looks for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, delivering yet another impeccable exercise in style. For this year’s edition, the designs draw inspiration from the art of Édouard Duval-Carrié, a Haitian-born painter and sculptor.
