Nike ACG made a collection for Jannik Sinner With Nike Atelier, an exclusive tailor-made project for the brand's top athletes

There’s always a good reason when Nike decides to bring Nike Atelier into play, the brand’s exclusive project, which is nothing more than a tailor-made initiative reserved for the top athletes on the Swoosh roster: the creation of one-of-one pieces that are not meant for sale or distribution, but for the technological experimentation that defines Nike. This time, Nike Atelier knocked on Jannik Sinner’s door, with the exclusive participation of ACG, which is experiencing a revival and rebranding more vibrant than ever. From its detachment from Nike, almost perceived as an autonomous outdoor brand, to initiatives like this, which reinforce its image as a unique outdoor brand different from competitors.

Although at first the collaboration between the tennis player and Nike ACG might seem unusual, in recent years tennis matchwear codes have softened significantly. Several examples demonstrate this: Carlos Alcaraz (also Nike) in Total 90 x SlamJam first, and Total 90 x Palace Skateboards later, represent a good example of this progressively developing connection.

From Maria Sharapova to Jannik Sinner

The Nike ACG products for Jannik Sinner range from a vest made with A.I.R. technology, to a jacket featuring rubber inserts making it waterproof, to a shoe and one of the line’s standout pieces: an exclusive carabiner designed solely for the tennis player. As expected, there’s nothing directly referencing the world of tennis, probably because one of the brand’s messages was to remove the athlete from his usual context, to show how his image, so strong and majestic, can endure even in a completely different environment—the outdoor world. Made to Sinner's exact specifications, the one-of-one look was created by Nike Senior Design Director Raffaella Barbey, working alongside Lotti, and a multidisciplinary design team.

Just a few months ago, Nike Atelier celebrated another tennis star among its protagonists: Maria Sharapova, for whom the Swoosh created a new tailor-made version of her iconic Little Black Dress, her match kit.
