Cole Palmer unveils the logo of Cold Palmer When footballers become global brands
Cole Palmer has officially unveiled the logo of his personal brand, Cold Palmer. A clean, minimal design in which the two initials—the capitalized C and P—interlock to recreate the Chelsea forward’s iconic celebration. Palmer had trademarked his brand in early October after resolving a commercial dispute with Château Palmer, a Bordeaux-based winery that had challenged the registration of the Cold Palmer name for wine products. The forward sidestepped the issue by registering the trademark with the UK Government’s Intellectual Property Office for a wide range of product categories—excluding wine.
Palmer now joins the ever-growing list of footballers who have developed their own logo. Last September, Lamine Yamal unveiled his personal crest in collaboration with adidas, his individual sponsor. A strategy mirrored by Nike, which—around the same time as Palmer’s launch—revealed the official logo dedicated to Alexa Putellas, Barcelona Femení’s star. In Serie A, the roster of players with a personal logo includes Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martínez, Paulo Dybala, and Christian Pulisic, alongside global icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé.
The creation of this logo represents the latest chapter in a rapid evolution that has transformed Palmer from a promising young talent into a global icon. A rise built first and foremost on performance—through his impact in the Premier League, then on the world stage at the FIFA Club World Cup won by Chelsea last summer, and now through his performances in the current Champions League. Global arenas where Palmer has excelled in shaping an identity capable of thriving beyond the pitch. Further proof, if any were still needed, that footballers are no longer just athletes. They are businesses. Cultural brands. Revenue machines that, with the right guidance and a cohesive vision, can transform a name into a worldwide empire.
